Wedges
Technically a part of the iron family, wedges are specially designed clubs for accuracy and used for the challenging, short shots on the green as well as from the sand. There are four main types of golf wedges: pitching wedge, gap wedge, sand wedge and lob wedge; each having distinct properties ideal for different types of shots. Factors such as the type of metal used and the groove configuration have an important influence on the performance of golf wedges. Higher quality wedges produce better spin and have greater forgiveness.
