Tee off, rain or shine, with golf umbrellas. These umbrellas protect golfers from both the rain and the sun during play. Designed to be much larger than a standard umbrella, most golf umbrellas measure between 60 and 65 inches. Golf umbrellas are generally made with a shaft fashioned out of fiberglass to keep it from being too heavy. Its spreaders are also made out of this material, an advantage which renders it lightning resistant. The large size and sturdiness of the canopy of the golf umbrella helps prevent strong winds from turning the umbrella inside out.
